Admission Requirements

All prospective applicants are not required to complete a formal interview, however the students may set up a time to ask specific questions related to admissions requirements in general, course length, course cost, curriculum, etc.

Requirements Needed at Time of Enrollment for CNA

  1. Proof individual is at least 16 years or older
  2. Current negative PPD or negative x-ray. This must be completed before student enters the clinical facility
  3. The payment of the registration fee and arrangements to pay tuition
  4. Background Check
  5. Signed enrollment agreement
  6. All applicants must be able to speak, read, and understand English
  7. Clinical held between October and April may require proof of influenza vaccination

Requirements Needed at Time of Enrollment for Phlebotomy

  1. All Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with valid proof of identification
  2. Application must be able to speak, read and understand English
  3. The payment of the registration fee and arrangements to pay tuition
  4. Signed enrollment agreements

Graduation Requirements

CNA (Certified Nurse’s Aide) Completion Requirements

  1. Students must demonstrate 100% accuracy on all skills taught in lab/clinical setting in order to receive “Pass” for this portion of the program
  2. Students must maintain 100% attendance rate in class/clinical. (If student misses a class they will have to wait until that class day is offered again and it is not guaranteed it will be available in the next class)
  3. All Students must complete 100% of the clinical hours
  4. All Students must get at least an 80% or above on all quizzes and exams when given
  5. All Financial obligations to school must be satisfied before sitting for State exam or receiving a completion of Achievement Certificate

Upon completion of the CNA course, the student may sit and take the CT State Exam provided by Prometric. Successful completion of Northeast Medical Institute courses does not guarantee a passing grade on the State Prometric Exam. (This pertains only to the CNA Program)

Phlebotomy Training Completion Requirements

  1. Students must demonstrate 100% accuracy on all skills taught in lab setting in order to receive “Pass” for this portion of the Program
  2. Students must maintain 100% attendance rate in class. (If student misses a class they will have to wait until that class day is offered again and it is not guaranteed it will be available in the next class)
  3. All Students must get at least an 80% or above on all quizzes and exams when given
  4. All Financial obligations to school must be satisfied before sitting for State exam or receiving a completion of Achievement Certificate
  5. Students must successfully complete 30 venipunctures and 10 capillary sticks on live individuals in order to take the NHA Exam

Upon completion of the Phlebotomy course, the student may sit and take the National Healthcareer Association Exam. Successful completion of Northeast Medical Institute course does not guarantee a passing grade on this exam.
